Description:
Writing-on-Stone/ Áísínai pi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, presents a significant cultural landscape that integrates the natural environment, cultural features, human experiences and spiritual perceptions into one. Here in this unique setting, Indigenous people came for centuries and recorded their experiences and visions on the sandstone cliffs of the Milk River Valley. This extensive rock art collection depicts generations of knowledge, traditions and history.
Important Information:
Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park has limited services in the shoulder season and winter months, please plan accordingly. During the summer months, Writing-on-Stone often experiences extreme heat conditions, extra water and sun protection is required for exploring the area.

Getting There:
Writing-on-Stone/ Áísínai'pi is located in Southern Alberta, a 3.5 hour drive southeast of Calgary. From Lethbridge, Alberta take HWY4 south to the Town of Milk River, then HWY501 east to junction 500, then it is 9km south to range road 130A.
