Reservations for tour are not required, but due to limited offerings and capacity are highly recommended to secure your spot. If you are looking for a special group booking of 12 or more participants - please contact the park at 403-647-2364. Cancellation Policy: We are not responsible for missed programs; if you miss your program departure time, we cannot accommodate catching you up with your program due to limited staff and locked gates. We will not provide a refund for missed programs; you may be eligible to move your program to another time - a change fee will apply. Participants may cancel up to 48 hours before the event and receive a refund of their program fee; however, the booking fee is non-refundable. Events cancelled by the participant with less than 48 hours notice will not be refunded. Program cancellations may be done online through the user account or by calling (403) 647-2364. Refund Policy: In the event of rain, wet conditions, unsafe road conditions, or other conditions that threaten the safety and comfort of participants, programs may be cancelled or replaced with alternate programs at the regular ticket price. Content of program is the same or similar. Refunds are available if visitors choose not to participate in the alternate program or if no alternate program is available. Tour Description The unique landscape of Writing-on-Stone/Áísínai'pi has been awe-inspiring since time immemorial. This place has always been special to the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot People) and other First Nations as a place to connect with the spirit world. Journey with an Alberta Parks interpreter into the Archaeological Preserve to view the Indigenous carvings and paintings and to learn more about the history, stories and significance of this remarkable landscape. Important Information All participants need to arrive at the Visitor Centre 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of the tour to retrieve their tickets, use washroom facilties and fill water bottles. No smoking or pets permitted on programs or in the archaeological preserve. For your safety and comfort, please bring 1 litre of water, sunscreen, hat and insect repellent. Note footwear restrictions on this program: participants must wear sturdy closed toe and heel footwear; NO sandals or flip-flops allowed due to uneven surfaces and cacti. Please note we are not able to accommodate trailers or motorhomes on our tours. Pets are not permitted in the preserve and due to extreme heat conditions, are not allowed to be left in vehicles in the preserve. Vehicles cannot be left running in the preserve due to the fire hazard. Accessibility This program is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. Content recommended for ages 8 and up. 5 and under may be restricted based on extreme heat conditions. Amenities Public washrooms and water bottle refilling station located at Visitor Centre where tour begins. Directions Tour starts at the Visitor Centre - located at prairie level east of the entrance to the park. Note: Some Tours may be available only from the Tour Park on a first-come-first-served basis. Arrival dates earlier than the online-reservation-window may also be available at the Tour Park. |
