Notice:Please read the attachment carefully as it contains important information about your tour. Participants under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult. Please be advised that ongoing park road construction may impact traffic flow into Dinosaur Provincial Park between May 1, 2024 – June 21, 2024. One lane of traffic may be closed during daytime hours. Please account for delays in your travel time and allow ample time for arrival before your Program Start Time. Programs will start at their scheduled time and late participants will not receive refunds.
Tour Description Ages 12 and up only
Calling all artists! Of any skill level! Leave the studio behind and bring your tools of the trade out into the beauty of the badlands for a 2-hour outdoor art session. We will provide access and transport to a unique badlands location, and you will bring your art supplies and creativity.
4 sessions will be offered this season: each in a different location, each with a different theme:
June: Badlands in Bloom
July: Holy Hoodoos Badlands!
August: Wide Open Wonder-scapes
September: Autumn Splendor
Bring your own: Art materials and tools (i.e. easel, paper, canvas, pencils, paints, brushes, pencil crayons, pens, etc.)
Materials provided: Stool, drawing board, water and water disposal
Recommended Mediums: pencil, charcoal, pastels, ink, watercolor, acrylic, oils

Important Information Program Meeting Point: Dinosaur Provincial Park Visitor Centre. Parking for the program is at the Cretaceous Café, approximately a 2 minute walk from the Visitor Centre.
Ticket: Tickets must be purchased in advance online or at the Visitor Centre. No printed ticket required. Your guide will check you in at the program meeting point. All tours leave at the scheduled time. Late arrivals will not be refunded.
Age Restriction: This program is NOT suitable for children under 12 years of age. Children under 12 years of age will not be allowed to participate and will not receive a refund.
Be Prepared: Please bring your art supplies, water (1 litre/person), sunscreen, hat, and insect repellent. We also recommend walking sticks, a camera and other weather appropriate clothing such as raingear and a jacket.
Footwear Requirement: Sturdy footwear suitable for hiking with closed-toe and closed-heel are required (no keens, crocs, sandals, or flip-flops allowed). Participants will NOT be able to join the hike without appropriate footwear and will not receive a refund.
Weather Policy: In the event that weather creates unsafe conditions (including high temperatures, rain, wet and slippery ground, unsafe roads, or other conditions that threaten the safety and comfort of participants) programs may be cancelled and full refunds provided. Where possible, we will endeavor to offer a similar alternative program.
Cancellation Policy: Participants may cancel up to 48 hours before the event and receive a refund (minus the $5 booking fee). Registrations cancelled by the participant with less than 48 hours notice will not be refunded. Cancellations may be completed online at Sign In - Alberta Parks or by calling (403) 378-4342.
Park Location: This program takes place in Dinosaur Provincial Park UNESCO World Heritage Site, 48 kilometres northeast of Brooks, Alberta (a 2 hour drive from Drumheller).
Note: Pets are not allowed on tours unless otherwise stated. Please email dinosaurpp@gov.ab.ca to consult if you have a service animal.

Note: Some Tours may be available only from the Tour Park on a first-come-first-served basis. Arrival dates earlier than the online-reservation-window may also be available at the Tour Park.
