Dinosaur Provincial Park, AB
Alternate Fossil Safari
Nature Tour
1 hr. 45 min.
Notice:
Participants under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Please be advised that ongoing park road construction may impact traffic flow into Dinosaur Provincial Park between May 1, 2024 – June 21, 2024. One lane of traffic may be closed during daytime hours. Please account for delays in your travel time and allow ample time for arrival before your Program Start Time. Programs will start at their scheduled time and late participants will not receive refunds.
Tour Description
This alternative program is offered when we are unable to access the natural preserve due to unsafe conditions. Your group will still have access to an expert interpreter, learn and see all of the same interesting things as on the regular Fossil Safari but we will stay indoors at the Visitor Centre to keep you safe. This program is offered at a discount. If you have already registered for a full price Fossil Safari online, you will automatically receive a partial refund. If you registered in person at the park, you will need to obtain your partial refund at the Visitor Centre.
You will get to touch and hold real fossils, help search for and identify micro fossils under a microscope, explore the Visitor Centre with a guide and tour the Paleontology Lab. This program is designed for families with young children. If you are looking for a more in-depth, fossil hunting experience, try our Fossil Finders program for ages 14 and up.
