Notice:Participants under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult.Please be advised that ongoing park road construction may impact traffic flow into Dinosaur Provincial Park between May 1, 2024 – June 21, 2024. One lane of traffic may be closed during daytime hours. Please account for delays in your travel time and allow ample time for arrival before your Program Start Time. Important Information Location: Program starts and ends at the Park Visitor Centre, with transportation to the dig site provided. Be Prepared: For your comfort and safety please bring 2 litres of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and insect repellent. Sturday hiking boots are required. Open-toe shoes will not be allowed. Extra water will be provided. Cancellation Information: Participants may cancel with a notice of at least one week prior to beginning of schedued program and receive a refund of their program fee, however the $5.00 booking fee si non-refundable. Refunds will not be provided for cancellations made with less than one weeks notice. Program cancellations may only be done by calling (403) 378-4344. Dinosaur Provincial Park reserves the right to cancel the program for reasons such as poor weather, insufficient number of registrants, or any other pertinent reason. Full refunds would be provided in such cases. Location of Park: This program takes place in Dinosaur Provincial Park - UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is 48 kilometres northeast of Brooks, Alberta. (Note that the park is a 2 hour drive away from Dumheller) Accessibility This program is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. Due to content and 5-8 km hike distance over rough terrain - this program is recommended for ages 14 and up. Cancellations may occur due to extreme weather events, including extreme heat and rain. Amenities Public washrooms and water bottle refilling station located at Visitor Centre - located near the entrance to the park. Note the parking lot for the program is approximately a 2 minute walk from the Visitor Centre. Accommodations and meals are not included! You are responsible for making accommodation and meal arrangements throughout the duration of your program. Dinosaur Provincial Park works in partnership with the Heritage Inn located in Brooks to offer accommodation and boxed lunches at a special rate for Guided Excavation guests exclusively! Information on bookings and rates will be attached to your confirmation email. Directions Program starts at the Visitor Centre. Parking available at Cretaceous Café parking and it's a 2 minute walk to Visitor Centre. Note: Some Tours may be available only from the Tour Park on a first-come-first-served basis. Arrival dates earlier than the online-reservation-window may also be available at the Tour Park. |
