Overview

Description

This scenic area offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities. Enjoy camping, beaches, fishing, boating and more. Scattered around the reservoir you will find three popular first come first served campgrounds offering basic campsites with easy water access, non-potable water is available from hand pumps, firewood is not available. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and bring their own drinking water, and firewood. Three diverse day use areas situated on both the reservoir and the Red Deer River provide opportunities for picnicking. For large groups there are three reservable group camping areas. Great fishing is available at the Dickson Trout pond or along the river. Boat launches are available at the Cottonwood day use, South Dyke and Dickson Point Campgrounds.


Note: water levels fluctuate on the reservoir throughout the year, boat launches are not functional till early summer.
